    Mixtape Mondays

If i could post one of these guys mixtapes per week for the rest of this blogs life,
    i would.

These guys are the coolest guys to come out of Switzerland, chyeah.
From my understanding, its a few guys that consist of the Producer, Matt Foley
(not sure if thats connected to Chris Farley’s old ‘motivational speaker’ character)
The MC, (Name i don’t know yet)
    and the DJ, DJ Raze..

Their mixtapes are full of their own remixes / edits and originals of all the corny 70’s, 80’s and 90’s movie soundtracks, with unique dialogue being spoken over the top, and the occasional french freestyle rap in there as well.

This mixtape is probably my favourite, labeled “Win in the movie”..
Download and thank me later for the overload of coolness..

  3. Melancholy Hill

Moving to New York City is an inevitable dream of mine, and will happen in a couple of years,

And this video i stumbled across on LikeCOOL is made entirely out of short videos of the different lights you will find in NYC!

On Melancholy Hill - NYC Lights from Chateau Bezerra on Vimeo.

    Director: Chateau
    Cinematography: Alpha Smoot
    Song: Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz

  4. Good morning Adelaide

Have been pulling some pretty late nights / early mornings for uni lately, and one morning, the lighting was too perfect for a photo.

  5. Love mug

“Negative space this, Negative space that” is what we used to constantly
get droned into our heads at design school,
but proper use of negative space does have its place in good design.

  7. 7D DSLR Test

I came across a video shot by this:

the Canon 7D camera… Its basically a video of bmx tricks, (which has been done before yes),
but the video shows off the cameras incredibly smooth high speed filming capabilities.

  8. Duct tape art

Ah, I love seeing different mediums of street art being used. Here we have a bunch of guys using quite colourful duct tape (which i would like to get my hands on) and going around the streets of slovenia and taping various shapes / shadows to the ground and walls.

  9. Mixtape Mondays

    Yo,

Sorry I haven’t been posting a whole lot,
I will be back to it more regularly soon!

To kick off the start of the re-start of
the posts, heres a live mix from ‘The Do-Over’
which is a sunday party held in the summer months
    over in America,
mostly playing hip-hop / yacht rock / eclectic electronic
    shaped jams.. perfect summer soundtracks.

Heres a mix from one that i’ve been digging the most,
from a guy called Waldo.. not a DJ I know alot about,
so i cant give you the spill,
but if you like your hip hop, then he drops alot of the songs
that your favourite hip hop jams have sampled over the years.

    minimal public figures

Ah, I stumbled across a series of illustrations by Ali Jabbar, who has taken several iconic public figures and stripped them back of their features leaving only the basics. I love them!

    mixtape mondays

    Hallelujah!

Now if there a live show I am hanging out to see eventually,Ludachrist would definitely be in the top 3. The duo consists of Knick (1/3 of Evol Intent) and Ewun. Both having their roots strongly in Drum and Bass. Their live show is apparantly a couple of computers, a few midi controllers, turntables, a bass guitar, electric guitar and a shitload of basslines / acapellas / riffs from songs made over the last century.

This mix will do until; either the second one comes out, or I see them live.
Its basically a mashup mixtape of hiphop, but different to any others out. and so much better.

  14. papple’s

We got given a brief in design school this week, where we have to create a 3D object out of a diverse range of paper with different textures, weight, strength etc.

We basically have to re-design something that is either:
Highly functional in its use, but aesthetically un-interesting, or vice versa.

I did a bit of research into paper objects, and came across an interesting piece by David Brownings.

Also stumbling through his site, he’s re-made a handful of Nike kicks out of paper.
